Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the renowned hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh, offering prayers for the "good health, well-being, and prosperity" of all Indians.
The visit occurred during Modi's trip to Telangana ahead of the upcoming assembly election. Sharing images on social media, Modi, adorned in traditional South Indian attire, paid tribute at the 'Dwajasthambam' before entering the sanctum sanctorum.
The prime minister also sought the blessings of temple priests during the visit, emphasizing his prayers for the 140 crore Indians.Modi's arrival in Tirumala on Sunday night was met with a grand welcome, with Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy receiving him at Reniginta airport.
Following his temple visit, Modi is scheduled to hold public meetings and a roadshow in Telangana, where he criticized the ruling Bharat Rasthra Samithi (BRS) government, labeling it an "enemy of the poor." The state, gearing up for polls on November 30, anticipates a three-way contest between BRS, Congress, and BJP, witht the latter promising swift actions for the welfare of the poor.
